Liverpool fans bemoan De Vrij update

Some Liverpool fans have been bemoaning the Reds being linked with Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij, with many growing bored of the rumour.

A new centre-back is likely to be at the top of Jurgen Klopp’s agenda this summer, as he looks to address a problem area this season.

Liverpool have had to make do without Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip for many months, playing a huge part in the Reds’ struggles in 2020/21.

Ozan Kabak was signed on loan in February and has performed well, but it has still been a far-from-ideal scenario, with Nathaniel Phillips perhaps not at the level required, despite some admirable displays.

Ibrahima Konate seems to be the most likely centre-back to be heading to Liverpool, but FC Inter News claim that De Vrij is also a target.

The 29-year-old has made 31 appearances in Serie A this season, playing his part in Inter being crowned champions under Antonio Conte.
